Voice Lessons
Students taking voice lessons will be instructed in these core areas: technique, training in repertoire, theory, performance and some music history.
Technique: (Vocal – Breathing, Tone production, Vowel Shaping, etc.)
Training in Repertoire: Styles used are: Opera, Classical, Sacred, Folk & Musical Theatre
Theory: Reading music, Rhythm, etc.
Performance: Preparation to sing in front of an audience.
Music History: Background of Composers, Piece of Music and Literary Understanding of the song.
As the student’s musicianship develops, lesson time may be used to prepare selected pieces for worship at their church or for performance at a recital. Each student will be encouraged to offer his/her talent in various ways
Piano Lessons
Students taking piano lessons will receive instruction that matches a person’s natural abilities and desires. Rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach to piano playing, we believe that there are many ways for students to learn and appreciate music through keyboard study.
Here is a sample of what students will learn in piano lessons:
Performance technique, music theory, music history, a wide variety of literature – classical to popular, improvisation, accompaniment, and collaborative performance

Do you teach all ages?
We welcome piano students of all ages in our studio. Due to the changing nature of young voices, a student must be at least 10 years old to take voice lessons.
Do you have any performance opportunities?
Our teaching year is divided into 2 semesters – fall / winter & winter / spring. At the end of each semester we offer a recital for any student who would like to perform. This is not a requirement, but a good opportunity to show people what you have learned.
How much should I practice?
Regular home practice is essenial for student success. Students should aim for at least 5 days of practice each week. Consistant, productive practice sessions are often more important than the length of time.
